During the first episode of the double bill, Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) went to visit her boyfriend who is currently serving a prison sentence for attacking Rich Collis (Fraser Ayres).
But as the pair reunited and shared a romantic moment together, fans of the ITV soap couldn’t get over Robert’s (Tristan Gemmill) shocking new hair do.
Robert appeared unrecognisable as he sported short grey locks compared to his usual luscious brunette head of hair.
Many found his appearance even more distressing than last week’s double murder as one person said on Twitter: “Robert with grey hair on #corrie has me more shook than the murder storylines.”
Others believed Robert hasn’t been settling into prison life very well as they wrote: “Blimey! Life inside must be stressful. Look what’s happened to Robert’s hair in just a week! #Corrie #coronationstreet #silverfox.”
“Just catching up on @itvcorrie and what the hell has happened to Robert’s hair!! Prison life is taking it’s toll!! #silverfox #Corrie,” said another.
While one person compared Robert to This Morning host Philip Schofield and commented: “That @TristanGemmill in @ITVCorrie looks more like @Schofe than Robert Preston.”
Robert – who hasn’t been seen in the soap since September – addressed his drastic new hair colour in the episode as he asked Michelle: “Do you think they will like the new look?”
She replied: “Well everyone loves a silver fox don’t they, but you’re mine.”
