Coronation Street cast: Jake Quickenden to join Brooke Vincent after Dancing on Ice?

The former X Factor star, 29 – who looks likely to win Dancing on Ice this Sunday – could move into the world of acting, according to Ladbrokes.

He is currently priced at 1/6 to win the gruelling talent show ahead of Brooke Vincent who is at 5/1.

Max Evans holds odds of 14/1 to lift the coveted Dancing On Ice title.

However, according to Ladbrokes, Jake is prices at 2/1 to join Coronation Street following the finale.

The bookmaker told Express.co.uk he could move to Coronation Street after the finale: “He’s tried his hand at singing, skating and surviving in the jungle, and now it looks as though Jake will be the latest popstar set for a stint on the cobbles.”

Although Jake has pretty much been the favourite since the beginning, the Dancing On Ice competitor hasn’t had a smooth ride to the final.

Earlier this week, the former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star dislocated his thumb.

The painful injury happened during rehearsals and Jake was immediately taken off the ice and given gas and air.

Despite the setback, he assured Lorraine Kelly during her chat show that he would go ahead with the finale.

He joked: “Even if I had one arm I’d be in the final.

“I’ve loved every single second of it it’s been the best thing I’ve done and I’ve just fallen in love with skating.”

Jake also opened up about his struggles with sleeping to Lorraine.

“Sometimes, when I’m over-tired, or I’ve been on my mobile phone all night and I’m looking at that, I kind of wake up but I can’t move,” he explained.

Jake continued: “I’m basically paralysed. My eyes are open but I can’t speak and you’re still in a dream. It’s really weird, it’s quite scary.”

He admitted he rarely gets more than four to five hours sleep a night.

Coronation Street continues tomorrow on ITV at 7.30pm, while the Dancing On Ice finale airs Sunday at 6pm on the same channel.
