Coronation Street BLUNDER: Toyah Battersby leaves fans confused as they spot HUGE gaffe

Toyah (played by Georgia Taylor) was spotted in the cafe with partner Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) in the opening moments of tonight’s double bill.

The Rovers Return landlady was heard chatting to Peter about Eva Price’s (Catherine Tyldesley) recent weight gain.

And while many fans were thrilled someone other than Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) had noticed Eva’s burgeoning bump, others were distracted by her choice of food.

Fans of the long-running series were quick to question why Toyah had asked for an omelette when she is supposed to be vegan.

Many rushed to Twitter to point out the unusual blunder.

“Toyah Laverne Battersby ordering a plain omelette in Roy’s Rolls? I thought she was a vegan. Or is that a super plain omelette with no egg in it? #Corrie,” one viewer wrote.

Another added: “#corrie isn’t toyah a vegan she just ordered an omelette in the cafe???”

A third continued: “@itvcorrie #corrie I thought Toyah was supposed to be vegan?”

“Sure toyah is vegan! #omelette #corrie #coronationstreet,” someone else shared.

A fifth noted: “Thought Toyah was vegan? #Corrie.”

Later in the episode, Toyah was seen telling Eva she needed to tell Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward) he is the father of her unborn baby.

The pair had been to an antenatal class, which Eva struggled through.

As the nurse spoke about father’s holding their babies for the first time, the bar maid was overcome with emotion.

Toyah noticed she was worried about Aidan missing out on the chance to be a father.

As a result, she later freed Eva of her promise to hand over her unborn baby.

Soap star Catherine has previously hinted at a reunion for Eva and Aidan.

She explained: “She realises she is robbing Aidan of the chance to be there, should he wish to be there.

“He will never get to hold her, sing to her, and do all the things that dads are supposed to do and that overwhelms her at that point.

“That is the big-hearted Eva that comes through – she cares about other people, she grew up without a dad, and that is another key part of this.”

Coronation Street airs tonight on ITV at 8.30pm.
