Conor McGregor mocked by Paddy Power over Khabib Nurmagomedov bus attack

The former UFC lightweight champion and his friends stormed the event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York looking to find Khabib Nurmagomedov, who was involved in an altercation with the Irishman’s team-mate Artem Lobov a few days earlier.

McGregor and his entourage soon discovered that the new UFC lightweight champion was on a bus about to leave the arena and began attacking it.

During the ruckus, a fired-up McGregor threw a dolley through one of the bus’ windows, .

After handing himself into the NYPD, McGregor was charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal damage.

With the dust beginning to settle on McGregor’s rampage, Paddy Power attempted to make light of the incident by sending a bus to pick up the Irishman at Dublin airport.

The bus driver turned up to the arrivals section dressed with a welcome sign for McGregor, along with several balloons.

And to ensure their driver didn’t receive any injuries, Paddy Power had him encased in bubble wrap.

But unfortunately for them, McGregor was a no-show.

McGregor’s future in mixed martial arts is currently up in the air following his latest transgression.

However, president Dana White has refused to rule out the prospect of ‘The Notorious’ returning to the Octagon by year’s end.

“I don’t know,” White said when asked about McGregor’s future. “You can’t ask me anything about Conor.

“I don’t know anything about Conor. I haven’t thought about it.

“There’s nothing to think about this week I think except for this event.

“I had so many things thrown at me this week. To focus on this show was insane.

“We’ll get back (to Las Vegas) and focus on Conor McGregor.”

McGregor, 29, hasn’t set foot inside the cage since his momentous , a triumph which saw him become the first fighter in the promotion’s history to hold two titles simultaneously.

His first back in mixed martial arts is expected to see him take on Nurmagomedov, who claimed the lightweight crown this past weekend.

Nurmagomedov didn’t waste any time in sending a message McGregor’s way, saying: “He have to fight with me. Now, no more this all fake champions.

“You guys remember when he put tweet, ‘Beg me.’ Please, beg me.”
