And now Hazard has claimed he will decide on his future in the summer after saying he wants to be a club legend.
Asked whether that was a hint he will snub a move to Real Madrid and sign a new contract, Hazard said: “To be fair, I’m just focused on the pitch, and we’ll see at the end of the season.”
Hazard, 27, has been sensational for Chelsea this term, scoring with 12 goals so far including two against Watford on Boxing Day.
Hazard was one of the stars of the World Cup and has carried that form into Premier League action under Maurizio Sarri.
“I’m scoring more goals, I don’t feel I’m playing better, I’m just scoring more goals,” he said.
“I don’t know why, maybe I’m just nearer to the goal. My position is winger. I feel better as a winger, but [against Watford] I did well as a striker, and against Brighton I did well as a striker.
“The manager chooses where to put me on the pitch and then I try to do my best.”
Hazard is on Madrid’s radar though after their poor start to the season.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane left in the summer and it’s chaos since.
Julien Lopetegui was sacked early on and replaced by Santiago Solari and they have crept up to fourth.
But Hazard is seen as an option for them in January should Florentino Perez get his cheque book out.
Hazard though has admitted he wants to become a club legend at Stamford Bridge after scoring his 100th and 101st goals for the club this week.
”It means a lot, especially because we also won,” Hazard said, when speaking to Sky Sports about his milestone.
“Scoring 101 goals with this amazing club is something I will never forget.
“But now I think the fans, the staff, myself, the players, we want more.
“I want to score more for this club and then try to be a legend like [Frank] Lampard, [John] Terry, [Didier] Drogba, I try to do my best.”
