Sarri’s arrival at Stamford Bridge last weekend is the latest episode in a summer of change which began with Antonio Conte’s departure.
And Chelsea are expected to make forays into the transfer market as on his behalf as they seek to overhaul the squad he inherited from his compatriot.
Chelsea new boy Jorginho is the first of a number of anticipated signings but Sarri also faces a fight to keep players in west London.
Hazard and Courtois have been linked with Real Madrid, while Willian is being tracked by his former boss Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
Sarri says he hopes to keep his team together – but he has hinted there could be departures in the coming days.
“Clearly we will always like to keep our strongest players,” said Sarri, when asked about interest in Hazard, Courtois and Willian. “This is what any manager wants to do. Then we will have to see how the transfer market goes in the next few days.”
Sarri insists his main focus is on developing the players he already has it his disposal, rather than splashing the cash.
“I want to clarify that I feel much more like a pitch manager than a general manager,” continued Sarri, having been asked about a potential move for Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain.
“I think I am one of the few managers who is bored by the transfer market. I don’t want to talk about the transfer market and I’m not that interested in it. Our task as managers is to grow the players that we have.”
Sarri was willing to admit he is eager to address Chelsea’s defence as he looks to implement his own tactical system.
“I cannot name names, because I don’t know,” said Sarri, when asked about which players he wants to bring in.
“I spoke with the club and ideally I think that a pinch of quality is lacking in our centre-halves for a certain type of play.
“At the end of the transfers I will understand which type of game is the most suitable.
“I cannot change 20 players, I must adapt and then I will see if we change some thing in my game. Because of their characteristics.”
Sarri forged a reputation for managing entertaining teams in Italy, with Napoli known for their swashbuckling approach.
And the new Chelsea boss says he is eager to entertain fans now he has swapped Serie A for the Premier League.
“I do not want to change anything in the club’s philisophy but I want to bring mine on the pitch,” said Sarri. “I always start from something.
“It is fun, the child in each of us must be nutured as this sometimes makes the best of us. The style of play that is fun is the first thing.”
Sarri will take charge of Chelsea for the first time when they kick off their pre-season campaign against Perth Glory on Monday.
They follow up that fixture by taking on Inter Milan, Arsenal and Lyon in friendlies, with the Community Shield showdown with Manchester City on August 5.
