Cheap flights: Norwegian launch BARGAIN flights from Edinburgh to New York

Flying to the US no longer has to be an expensive trip.

Many budget carriers offer cheap flights as the competition in the travel industry insures holidaymakers get the best rates.

Norwegian has always been one of the most affordable ways to travel across to the states.

And with their new routes having just been announced, it’s set to get even cheaper.

The budget airline has launched their cheapest flights direct to the US from Scotland.

Departing today from Edinburgh, the Scottish city has become the airline’s second UK base.

The new route will fly directly to New York to the smaller airport of Stewart International Airport.

The flights start from £138 one way, making it some of the cheapest on the market.

The airline keeps the prices low by flying to smaller airports as opposed to the most well-known ones such as JFK International Airport.

This means it can offer lower fares due to the lower landing charges.

Norwegian Chief Executive Officer, Bjorn Kjos spoke out about the new routes: “I’m very pleased to mark this major milestone which gives passengers in Edinburgh and Scotland the opportunity to travel to the USA at truly affordable fares.

“Not only is Norwegian transforming transatlantic travel by connecting smaller cities in huge catchment areas but we’re also unlocking affordable direct high-quality travel to a new market of travellers.”
