Dembele has been linked with a move to Brighton, with the Frenchman now valued at £20m after an indifferent first half of this campaign that’s yielded just four league goals.
The player himself admits his plan of staying could be scrapped if offers come in.
However, Callum McGregor believes his 21-year-old team-mate is a huge asset for the champions when he’s firing on all cylinders.
And he has encouraged Dembele to knuckle down in Dubai and set about hitting the levels he reached last season.
McGregor said: “You think back to the Aberdeen game recently where Moussa was unplayable.
“He looked like a real top player. If we can get him playing like that every week it would great for the group going forward and to win things.
“Another treble is obviously going to be a big draw for players like him. It’s just about him wanting to be here to kick on, work hard and be part of this group.
“All the boys love him and want him to stay and to be part of it.
“I don’t think he’ll be thinking of going anywhere.
“We definitely have more to achieve as a group.
“I think back to last year and how big an achievement that was, winning the treble. If we could do it again it would be an incredible achievement.
“But we can only look at the next game when we’re back.
“We’ll then see where that takes us if we prepare right and look to win every one.”
Celtic started their 2018 training plan on Sunday and were put through their paces again yesterday in the Dubai sun.
A team dinner at a local restaurant was organised by Brendan Rodgers last night and the players remain a tight-knit bunch.
Midfielder McGregor added: “We’ve been so successful because we have a good group who want to do well and work hard for each other.
“When you have a group like this it’s important you all stick together and keep pushing on.
“Last season was so special that it brought the boys even closer together. If we can kick on, we could potentially do it again.
“But we need the group to stay focused and stay hungry.
“When you feel part of a successful team, that’s where you want to stay.
“You want to keep being successful.
“It’s a special place to be.
“A lot of players will never win anything in their careers.”
