Captain Marvel: Brie Larson responds brilliantly to HUGE reaction to trailer release

A first glimpse at the upcoming film, due next March, was released on Tuesday and sparked huge discussion and excitement worldwide.

When Marvel Studios tweeted that over 109 million views had been logged in just 24 hours, Larson was ready with a joke.

“Pretty sure my Grandma was a million of those views,” she wrote.

“Thank you all for the support and excitement. Can’t wait to share more!”

The Oscar winner had earlier shared a photograph of herself in a Captain Marvel T-shirt.

“Yesterday was cool,” she captioned it.

The trailer was debuted live on Good Morning America from the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, with Larson present.

She posted a photo of her visit to Instagram, thanking the military families and students for turning up.

“Thank you to the military families, STEM students and all the other cuties who came to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum to see the Captain Marvel trailer in IMAX,” she said.

“Amazed that anyone would want to see my face that large.”

Captain Marvel is the next Marvel movie due for release, and it will be followed less than two months later by Avengers 4 – the sequel to this year’s nail-biting Avengers: Infinity War.

Larson has also filmed scenes for the latter, with Carol Danvers expected to play a key part in the surviving Avengers’ ultimate revenge against Thanos.

“I don’t feel like a superhero – this is all so surreal and new to me,” the star said on GMA.

“What brought me to this film was Carol, was this character.

“She’s so inspiring and incredible, and so to have the opportunity to play a role like this is amazing and I hope that just a little bit of her amazingness and her strength can rub off on me.”

Captain Marvel is out on March 8.
