Camilla Duchess of Cornwall wears angelic white for BBC2 competition final event

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, 70, had a day out without her husband Prince Charles, 69, today.

The royal met the lucky children who won BBC2’s 500 Words creative writing competition, with the final held in Hampton Court Palace today.

With the sunshine tentatively peeking through in London, Camilla chose a summery white dress.

A simple shift dress, her choice flattered her figure and looked cool and crisp.

Three-quarter length sleeves allowed her to show off some delicate jewellery. Camilla wore two fine gold bracelets on her arm, with her huge engagement ring thinking in the sunshine.

A pair of pearl earrings and a silver bead necklace completed the look.

Camilla stuck to her usual blowdried hairstyle and classic makeup.

The royal was seen driving out of Hampton Court Palace in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the classic car from the favourite children’s film & book.

Sat next to her in the car was radio and TV presenter Chris Evans, and the children who won the BBC2 competition.

All of the group smiled and waved to the assembled crowds and photographers.

At one point they were joined by author and Britain’s Got Talent favourite David Walliams, who hung on to the edge of the car.

Camilla has been busy this week, and was in Cornwall yesterday with Prince Charles for the Royal Cornwall Show.

Despite the chill in the air, Camilla opted for summer colours, wearing a pale pink summer coat.

The coat, which she wore closed at first, was collarless and featured an embroidered trim on the edges.

She pinned a small brooch to one shoulder. Underneath the coat, Camilla was wearing a dress in the same colour. It also had a black floral design.

She also stepped out with the Queen on Wednesday and attended a garden party at Buckingham Palace earlier this week.

For her day with the Queen, the Duchess of Cornwall wore a black skirt with a large white spotty print.

She added a white blazer, taking style tips from the Queen herself. Camilla added white court shoes with a black toe and her everyday pearl and diamond earrings.

For the garden party, Camilla wore a more formal choice, with an extravagant hat to complete the look.

Her powder-blue ensemble was glowing, with the Duchess opting for an elegant dress coat with pocket and shoulder detailing.
