However, Kyle and David have a history after the teen singer auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent three years ago; only to be told by David he needed singing lessons.
At 15-years-old, Kyle not only came back fighting but immediately landed a place in the semi-final, prompting some viewers to speculate that David felt “guilty”.
Brushing off the accusations, Kyle exclusively told Express.co.uk why he thinks the 45-year-old took such a drastic U-turn.
“It’s because I proved him wrong,” he stressed. “I felt, because he did that for me, it’s nice to know he’s given someone a chance.”
Kyle admitted that while David’s initial comments hurt, it’s given him a thicker skin for the competition.
“I’ve done everything he told me to do,” he said. “It upset me but he was right with what he said. I did exactly what he said and it made me a better person.”
Naturally, Kyle was “terrified” about confronting the BGT comic, more so than Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.
“I just didn’t want it to happen again,” he went on. “It wasn’t even being let down, but being told to go away again. But it seems to have paid off.”
Kyle now joins Sarah Ikumu, Just Us, Daliso Chaponda and Matt Edwards as the five golden buzzer acts leading the pack at next week’s string of live semi-finals.
