‘Black Panther,’ ‘A Quiet Place’ Lead Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society Mid-Season Nominees

We’ve reached the midway point of 2018, which means outlets (like ourselves) will be publishing a flurry of “best of the year so far” lists and the awards circuit will start to gear up for Oscar season. And while some awards ceremonies are still catching up with last year’s winners, the Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society (of which /Film’s Peter Sciretta is a member) has already released their nominees for their mid-season awards.

The Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society announced their mid-season film awards this week, which may give us a peek at what awards season will look like once the Fall rolls around. At the LAOFCS, Black Panther, A Quiet Place, and Hereditary led the pack, with Ryan Coogler‘s Black Panther scoring the most nods with seven nominations. John Krasinski‘s A Quiet Place followed right after with a total of six nominations.
