Bonny, Emma and Anton took on Shaun Wallace, aka The Dark Destroyer, and the Chaser was left stunned as the team managed to win the final round with a score of only 17 on the board.
As the trio – who walked away with £25,000 each – screamed and hugged one another, fans of the ITV quiz show immediately took to Twitter to offer their congratulations.
One person posted: “Well done Bonny and the team! £75,000, £25 grand each very nice! #TheChase”
“Massive congratulations to bonny taking on the chaser with 64,000 and now won £75,000 amazing enjoy it. #thechase,” a second gushed.
A third wrote: “Lovely team today won £75,000. So pleased for them. Enjoy! #TheChase.”
“That’s how it’s done!!! £75,000. Great work #TheChase,” a fourth gushed, while a different person commented: “Wow! £75.000 won on #TheChase Well done guys. Sean Wallace isn’t the best Chaser #justsaying.”
Last night’s instalment also saw host Bradley Walsh and Shaun come to blows after the Chaser managed to catch the first member of the team.
Contestant Dave did well in the cash builder but failed to replicate his performance in the head to head.
Dave was later “caught”, meaning he had to leave with nothing.
As he left, host Bradley quipped: “Timber!”
Annoyed that the 56-year-old had used his catchphrase, Shaun remarked: “You just stole my line there.”
The Chase continues tonight at 5pm on ITV.
