The meteorologist explained to viewers at home that although the weather won’t be as cold today as it was yesterday, there will be a lot of cloud around.
Northern England, Cumbria and north west Scotland, which will see a bit of ice on surfaces are the only exceptions to this.
In the south, rain is likely as the clouds thicken throughout the day due to grey skies.
Speaking about conditions in the south, Carol said: “It will be just thick enough for the odd spot of drizzle.”
Elsewhere, Wales is expected to be cloudy this morning but it should brighten up in the north west of Wales.
Carol Kirkwood also predicted sunshine in north west Scotland, parts of north west England and north Wales.
The 55-year-old then explained how it will be predominately bright in Kent, Sussex and Essex.
In the afternoon, the cloud will thicken heralding the arrival of a weather front, which will introduce rain and strengthening winds.
By the end of the week, overnight fog will develop in parts of the UK with the south being hit the most.
On Wednesday night to Thursday morning fog will affect east Wales, the Midlands and southern England.
