“I mean you, you’re [Piers] a controversialist, that’s what you do! And people want, I think, this isn’t buffing up, but the fact is they want to say ‘what’s that idiot going to say now’ or ‘what is that fountain of wisdom!’” John continued.
“I’m unashamedly and controversialist and I like to express my opinions, many of which are controversial,” Piers stated.
“You wouldn’t last five minutes in the BBC and rightly so,” John replied honestly.
“I used to work there and I found it very uncomfortable, I didn’t like being shackled in that way, I admire those who can do it for a very long time,” the presenter explained.
