Alex Jones and Matt Baker GOBSMACKED over Alison Moyet's SHOCK revelation on The One Show

Alison, 56 – who has been hard at work promoting her new album Other – left the BBC hosts stuck for words after she said that having so many belongings became “tedious,” so she decided to just get rid of them.

The hitmaker said: “I changed my life completely, I had the big house in the country where I didn’t know my neighbours for 10 years. [Then] I dumped everything and burnt everything and moved into a terrace.

“No off-street parking, I think I’ve driven twice in two years, it’s all about observation, you know?”

“I’m firmly middle-aged and not interested in a romantic narrative, so it’s just about watching people,” she continued.

A bewildered Matt, 39, then interrupted her by saying: “Hang on, can we just re-wind? So you burnt everything?”

Alison immediately replied with a grin on her face: “Yeah, it’s great!” as an equally-as-shocked Alex asked: “So you mean photos, clothes…”

Alison then said: “Photos, clothes, itineraries, just my successful history. It’s more stuff to clean. I just thought ‘enough!’ Having things is really tedious.”

Elsewhere on tonight’s show, viewers were also left in tears after they aired the brand new Bridge Over Troubled Water music video; which has been recorded by a whole host of artists to raise money for the victims of the Grenfell Tower disaster in London.

The One Show continues tomorrow at 7pm on BBC One.
