James Bond 25: 007 SLAMMED by major actor – ‘It’s so cheesy and boring’

The star, 64, explained that he turned down the chance to appear in the movie because he finds the series to be too predictable.

Speaking on Swedish-Norwegian talkshow Skavlan, he said: “Everyone in the audience knows he [Bond] is never going to die, the old devil, and that’s a bad recipe,” Stormare said on Swedish-Norwegian TV talk show Skavlan.

“I’ve never understood James Bond. I think it’s so cheesy and boring,” he said.

“It’s the same old ‘Yeah, Mr Bond, I’m gonna kill you’.

“I had other offers which were better.”

Reiterating his belief that the films are incredibly formulaic, he added: “I don’t feel any need to say something which is ‘paint by numbers’.”

Stormare – real name Rolf Peter Ingvar Storm – has had several big roles, including in John Wick: Chapter 2, 22 Jump Street, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Chocolat and Minority Report.

The next Bond movie is currently in the works, with Daniel Craig returning to the main role for the final time.

In August he finally confirmed the news after months of speculation, and rumours over who could replace him.

Very little is known about the next film, other than its US release date.

James Bond 25 is out on November 8 in the US, and is expected earlier in the UK.
