Overwatch Doomfist UPDATE: Blizzard beaten to the punch by THIS unlikely source

New character Doomfist might look familiar to fans of a popular fighting franchise.

Bandai Namco believes that Doomfist looks a lot like Tekken character Jack, and has been having some fun on social media.

“We see what you did there, @PlayOverwatch Everyone knows Jack is the original Doomfist! #TekkenVSOverwatch”

This was posted alongside a side-by-side comparison of the two characters.

Doomfist was shown wearing his upcoming Irin skin, which does make him look a lot like Jack.

You can see the side-by-side shot below, as well as the rest of Doomfist’s skins further down the page.

Overwatch character Doomfist is currently available as part of the PC PTR.

And Blizzard is already on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Just days after the launch of Doomfist on PC, Blizzard has made a big change to his Rocket Punch move.

Doomfist’s Rocket Punch initially propelled him forward by around 30 metres.

However, since the PTR balance update went live, Doomfist’s Rocket Punch now travels around 20 metres.

Blizzard will continue to make these kind of balance changes while Doomfist is in the PTR.

Once the studio is happy with how Doomfist performs, the new character will then be released in full.

Doomfist is described as a mobile, powerful fighter whose attacks include a Seismic Slam and four-shot hand cannon.

“Doomfist’s cybernetics make him a highly mobile, powerful frontline fighter,” the official description reads.

“His primary attack is the Hand Cannon; this four-shot weapon fires projectiles from Doomfist’s knuckles one a time or in a single blast.

“With his secondary attack, Rocket Punch, he charges forward and delivers a devastating blow, knocking back any opponent it connects with and dealing extra damage if the enemy is hurled into a wall.

Doomfist also has a Seismic Slam ability, which knocks opponents toward him so he can deal further damage.
