Google Maps captures man's body 'chopped off' in street view

Google Maps Street View has snapped a man riding a bicycle right next to the Google car.

But clearly the proximity of the man to the vehicle’s camera has caused a major image glitch as the man appears to have an ear growing out of his eye.

The cyclist’s profile can be seen as he looks past the Google car but it seems a section of his head is missing.

His earlobe looks to be attached to his cheekbone while his ear canal and eye ball seem almost connected.

The very top of his ear appears to be attached to his brow, all in all giving the rider a highly bizarre appearance.

Thankfully the man’s ear isn’t really growing out of his temple but rather the image is a result of a technological glitch.

The photography splicing has caused the problem due to the way the images are assembled.

When taking the photo, the 360-degree cameras shoot multiple pictures to create the seamless image.

This is done by knitting the images together to make it seem realistic.

However, moving objects often ruin the scene as they shift when the photos are taken.

This isn’t the first time that such an amusing and odd sight has been captured on Google Maps Street View.

A woman was snapped enjoying a day out at a popular viewpoint. But it seems she has an identical twin  stting next to her, also wearing blue trousers, a peach top and a white blazer.

One of the ladies has their arms over the back of the chair and the other woman has her arm on her leg.

Yet, strangely the two women have just three legs between them.

In reality, it’s the result of a camera flaw and there is in fact just the one lady sitting in the chair.

Another recent shot caught a snowmobile with legs striding across the snow in Alaska.

The image shows a pair of black-clad legs striding across the snow.

But from the waist up, instead of a torso… there is a snowmobile seemingly sticking out from the top.

The two other people manning their snowmobiles either side of the bizarre sight don’t seem remotely intrigued by the oddity – so clearly the explanation behind this is the recurring problem of Google camera glitches.

A third instance was when a a youth was also photographed in San Diego, California enjoying a day out skating with this friends – but he appears to have no legs to actually skate with and looks just like a floating torso as a result of photography splicing.
