  • The world record for tallest stack of waffles was officially broken in some guy’s backyard in Denver. 
  • Spencer McCullough and his friend Steve Garguilo used more than 50 pounds of waffle batter to build a stack 67 centimeters tall. 
  • Denver Post reporter Elizabeth Hernandez live-tweeted the entire thing and it was incredibly dramatic. 

Two guys from Denver just set a Guinness World Record for building the tallest waffle stack (seriously) and the Twitter thread chronicling their momentous achievement is one heck of a must-read.

Spencer McCullough, 23, and his friend Steve Garguilo, used more than 50 pounds of waffle batter and even followed a 40-page PDF that McCullough received from Guinness to ensure that what they made fit the record-keeper’s definition of what they believe constitutes a waffle.
