CONOR McGregor will carry on boxing after his billion-dollar fight with Floyd Mayweather.
The Sun reported the UFC’s golden boy has vowed to dominated both combat sports, beyond his August 26 showdown with the undefeated icon.
The news could cause concern to the MMA brand that has all its eggs in McGregor’s basket after the collapse of former golden girl Ronda Rousey.
There is already enough needle and backstory between McGregor and brief sparring partner Paulie Malignaggi to get the former world champion out of retirement to box the Irishman next.
Two-weight UFC king McGregor — who started his combat career at the Crumlin boxing gym — said: “I love the sport of boxing.
“Boxing has been dear to my heart my whole, entire life.
“I will compete in boxing bouts going forward, and I will contend in mixed martial arts bouts going forward.
“I will rule both with an iron fist, and that’s where my mindset is.
“I will have fun. I like it over this side. It’s good. The build-up is good, the preparation is good.
“I love the sport of boxing, I love the sport of mixed martial arts.
“I just love fighting. So wherever there’s a fight, you’ll see me.”
CONOR SWIPES AT FLOYD … AGAIN
Conor McGregor’s war of words with Floyd Mayweather escalated after the Irishman labelled his opponent “a man who beats his wife in front of his kids”.
Mayweather was sentenced to 90 days in prison in 2012 when his former partner Josie Harris claimed she was punched and kicked by the American boxer.
And McGregor seized the chance to highlight the issue again — along with accusing Mayweather of creating a race storm in an explosive interview with MMA Fighting.
His comments came ahead of the August 26 cross/combat showdown in Las Vegas.
UFC star McGregor’s “dancing monkey” comment caused uproar within the Mayweather camp, but the Irishman said the quote was taken out of context.
The 29-year-old said he was referring to the circus in Mayweather’s gym and he would “not disrespect any race like that”.
But McGregor added: “”If I was to label him as any animal, it would be the rat.
“I wouldn’t even label him after the great ape, he is a f****** rat and a weasel, because that’s what a rat and a weasel does, tries to manipulate words and create something that’s not there.
