Winter olympian turned presenter Amy Williams on her weekend

She now divides her time between being a mum to her son Oscar, who turns one in March, TV commentating and presenting – most recently, The Gadget Show – and motivational speaking.

Amy lives in Bath with her husband Craig Ham.

“Our weekend starts at around 3pm on a Friday, when Craig finishes early and comes home for some boys’ time with Oscar. While they’re having fun, I might go out for a jog. I might make spaghetti Bolognese and whizz it up in the processor so that Oscar can enjoy some, too. Then it’s bath- time and a story for Oscar to help him drift off to sleep. He slept like an angel for the first few months, but he is now waking up a lot more in the night.

“We’ll all be up around 6am on Saturday morning because Oscar can’t wait to say hello to our rescue cat, Captain. He sat on my bump all through my pregnancy and they adore each other.

“In the afternoon, my mum might look after Oscar while Craig, me and my dad go for a long bike ride. My mum will be helping Craig to look after Oscar while I’m in South Korea to cover the Winter Olympics, too. I know she’ll be brilliant, but the longest I’ve been away from him is 24 hours, so it’s going to be a wrench.

“We might watch TV in the evening or have some friends over. If I’m in the mood, I’ll cook, or we’ll order a takeaway. Fish and chips is an occasional treat.

“On a Sunday, we’ll wander along the canal into the city. I’ve lived in Bath since I was seven and love it. We’ll drop into our favourite brunch place for poached eggs on toast.

“We might have a mooch around the independent shops before going home. The afternoon will be spent printing out photos for a keepsake album I’m making for Oscar, while making sure he doesn’t crawl off and try and eat Captain’s cat biscuits – which he did recently!

“We’ll be tucked up in bed by 10pm. We might have a chinwag to plan the week, which starts around 5.30am when Craig leaves for work. Unless Oscar has other ideas, of course!”
