Season five of fantasy drama Vikings saw the deaths of two fan-favourite characters in Asbjorn (played by Elijah Rowen) and Helgi (Jack McEvoy).
The pair were involved in Floki’s (Gustaf Skarsgard) storyline, but in a brutal twist they were beheaded in battle.
Now reflecting on their time on the hit show, Irish actors Elijah and Jack have revealed one particular moment on set that still sticks with them now.
In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, the stars told how they played an epic prank on one of their co-stars on the show.
“The one I’ll give ya here is a good one,” Jack shared. “Myself, Elijah and Scott Grain were in my trailer having a laugh.
“And a particular actor, the background actor was a big fan of his. So we took it upon ourselves to compose a fan letter for this artist.
“We composed the letter, for which he then runs into the trailer going ‘Mate, mate, you’re not gonna f*****g believe this.
“Look at this, she even says I love you!’ And we were like yeah, yeah, we knew it man.
“Laughing, Jack continued: “He then said ‘F**k what am I gonna say to my girlfriend?’
“And we were like, ‘Well it’s not your fault if people are falling in love with you!’
“Anyway I think his heart dropped a little when he found out that it was myself, Elijah and Scott who had written it,” Jack teased.
Elijah chimed in to add: “A stitch up!”
“We were playing a little on-set prank,” Jack went on to explain, shedding light on what it’s like to film on the historical epic. “But that’s the type of fun we had, you know you have to entertain yourself on set.
“I mean Adam Copeland as well, thats why I love the man, he enjoyed a good bit of a laugh and a joke. You cant take yourself too seriously between takes, because a lot of the takes are serious and full of heavy emotion, of compassion or remorse.
“So you know when you’re not filming it’s great to fill it with fun times, the memories, and you know, the jokes and gags.”
Elijah also shared his own favourite moment behind the scenes was during a particular “stone sequence”.
“Yes it was the stone sequence!” Jack recalled fondly.
“Myself and Elijah were pitting to be the strongest man,” the actor added with a laugh.
Vikings season six is expected to return to History Channel and Amazon Prime Video next year.
