Why United want Mina
Barcelona defender Mina has been linked with Manchester United amid uncertainty over his Nou Camp future.
And Mundo Deportivo have now delved into why United are interested in bringing Mina to Old Trafford.
Back in February, the club endured a humiliating Champions League defeat to Sevilla.
Their season never really recovered, with defenders Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling enduring chastening evenings.
An their timid performances has led Mourinho to explore a deal for Mina.
No Harry for Real
Real Madrid have ruled out a move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane for two key reasons, it has been claimed in Spain.
Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer to Juventus, Real Madrid are in the market for a marquee player.
But Spanish newspaper AS claims the Champions League winners view the possibility of signing Kane as “almost impossible”.
The report says Real recognise they would need to make a “very high” offer to even tempt Spurs into selling Kane, but is also claimed Real have doubts over Kane’s ability to adapt.
The extortionate transfer fee required, added to Madrid chiefs not being convinced Kane can make it in Spain, mean Los Blancos are set to look elsewhere.
Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani is considered to be the most feasible signing and it is said he would be “very receptive” to joining if he received an offer.
Barca insider discusses Willian
A Barcelona insider has claimed the club will not be signing PSG’s Adrien Rabiot.
And that is because the deal is similar to their pursuit of Willian, who was not allowed to join Chelsea.
Marca quote the Barca source as saying: “It will be the same as Willian.
“These teams do not sell.”
Real Madrid transfer news: Real Madrid have their doubts about Harry Kane
Kane to Man Utd?
Tottenham striker Harry Kane could leave for Manchester United this summer… if the bookies are to be believed.
Both Paddy Power and Betfair have slashed the odds on the England international heading to Old Trafford from 33/1 to 4/1.
Paddy Power spokesman Lee Price said: “We are laying Harry Kane to go to Manchester United – it’s come from nowhere.
“The bets have just kept on coming and we’ve had to keep slashing and slashing the price. It seems punters can’t get enough of it.
“It appears United really could get their man and that Kane may be heading to Old Trafford.”
Real Madrid, the previous favourites to land Kane, have drifted from 2-1 to join United at 4/1.
Arsenal ace Alex Iwobi is going nowhere, with Unai Emery confident the Nigerian is poised to sign a new deal.
“I have the information – he’s near,” said Emery, when asked about Iwobi’s future ahead of tomorrow’s friendly against Paris Saint-Germain.
“First, I want to work with every player, and they are coming [back from their breaks after World Cup duty].
“Mesut [Ozil], Iwobi, [Mohamed] Elneny are starting to work with us, the first week is very good. My information is he is going to sign and continue with us.”
Chelsea have made signing Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford their top priority
Chelsea want Jordan Pickford
Chelsea have made signing Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford their top priority, Sky Sports claim.
Pickford, one of England’s brightest stars at the World Cup, joined Everton from Sunderland for £30million last summer.
He proved a massive hit winning Everton’s Player of the Year last season.
But it could be a fleeting visit to Merseyside with Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri interested in acquiring his services.
Pickford, 24, is reported to be the Italian tactician’s top preferred option to replace Thibaut Courtois, who is expected to join Real Madrid in a £31million deal.
Sky Sports add that NO formal approach has been made and neither club has commented on the reports.
Rowett hopeful of Butland stay
Gary Rowett has dismissed speculation linking England goalkeeper Jack Butland with a summer move.
Butland reported for pre-season training today after being given extended leave by Stoke this summer.
Butland was part of the England squad which reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in Russia and has been heavily linked with Chelsea this summer.
“I don’t believe any rumours if I’m honest,” Rowett said. “I understand the good players are going to be linked with good clubs which is great, I get that.
“That shows the level of player we’ve got at this club. It shows the level Jack Butland is at as a young keeper and that those clubs might potentially look at him.”
Transfer News: Neil Warnock wants to sign Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic
Hector Bellerin exit? That’s crazy talk!
Hector Bellerin insists he is “very happy” at Arsenal as the full-back continues to be linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium.
The 23-year-old has reportedly drawn long-term interest from the likes of Barcelona and Juventus but looks set to stay put.
“It is crazy that people ask me these questions all the time,” he said. “A few years ago I signed a very long-term contract. I have never said that I have wanted to be anywhere else.
“I am very happy in London. I am very happy at this club. The club have made me who I am and gave me the chance to be the footballer I am today. So I don’t want to be anywhere else.”
Wanted: Marko Grujic
Neil Warnock wants to sign Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic.
The Serbia international joined Liverpool in January 2016 before loan spells with Red Star Belgrade and Cardiff, where he helped them achieve promotion from the Championship.
And now Warnock wants the 22-year-old on a permanent basis.
“If not Marko, we want somebody like that. We’re still optimistic and we should know within the next few days on that one,” said Warnock.
“I’m constantly in touch with [Grujic], still optimistic but we’ve also found a back-up as well, which we’re trying to hold on to for another few days, just in case.
“I’ll be disappointed if I don’t get Marko but it won’t be the end of the world. I’m looking at a permanent deal and I’m also looking at the loan market. But I want Marko first.”
Transfer News: Matteo Guendouzi became Unai Emery’s fifth new arrival
Unai Emery on future deals
Unai Emery has hinted at no more signings before next month’s transfer window slams shut.
The Gunners boss has already brought in five new arrivals after replacing Arsene Wenger in May, adding Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi to his ranks.
“I believe in these players,” he told reporters. “Now I am very happy with the players. On Monday other players come with us after the World Cup. If there is a possibility to sign a player, it isn’t very important now, but while the window is open, we can.”
Jurgen Klopp defends Alisson fee
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has defended the decision to make Alisson the world’s most expensive goalkeeper.
The Brazil international moved from Roma earlier this month for £65million, but the Reds boss believes it was a necessity in a small market place and said there were even more costly options out there.
Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak was another of Klopp’s targets, but he proved prohibitively expensive.
“Everybody thinks it’s a lot of money. It is a lot of money, but he could’ve left for crazy money,” Klopp told ESPN FC. “The clause for Oblak for example is 100m euros (£89m), so nice! The goalkeeper market is different because it’s not each year that there is anybody available.
“We didn’t know exactly if Alisson is available or not, but from a specific moment we realised obviously he is available and that’s the moment when we decided we want to go for him.”
Man Utd transfer news: Toby Alderweireld has one year left on his Spurs contract
Toby Alderweireld update
Manchester United have made little progress in their efforts to sign Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld.
Alderweireld has a year left on his Spurs contract and after developing into one of the Premier League’s best defenders, there is significant interest in the Belgium international.
Spurs can extend Alderweireld’s contract by 12 months but it means he will have a release clause of £25million, which is attainable for most top sides.
As a result, Spurs are demanding around £50m for the defender in a bid to get the best price for him.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants at least two more signings before the transfer window closes on August 9 and bolstering his centre-back options is one of his key priorities.
According to Sky Sports, United and Spurs are “far apart” in their valuations of Alderweireld and no talks are scheduled between the two clubs.
But the report says a deal for Alderweireld “will go to the final days of the window”.
Liverpool Transfer News: Liverpool fans still hope Nabil Fekir will join this summer
Transfer News: Liverpool fans believe Linda Pizzuti has confirmed a deal for Nabil Fekir
Done Deal: Klaassen joins Werder Bremen
Davy Klaassen has joined Werder Bremen after spending just a year at Everton.
The 25-year-old, a former captain at Dutch side Ajax, moved to Everton before the start of last season but failed to establish himself, making just 16 appearances across all competitions.
“We’re happy to have found exactly the player we were looking for,” Werder Chief Executive Frank Baumann said. “Davy brings a lot of quality, talent and a lot of experience at a relatively young age. He is a player who will help our team from day one.”
Done Deal: Marcelo Flores signs – report
Arsenal have signed Ipswich teenager Marcelo Flores, reports claim.
According to unofficial Ipswich Town website TWTD, the Gunners have snapped up the 15-year-old Canadian youngster and will be added to their development squad.
TWTD claim Arsenal and Ipswich agreed a compensation fee thought to be lower than the £1million Manchester City paid for Ben Knight in June.
The website adds that Chelsea, Liverpool and Barcelona were all monitoring Flores.

Nabil Fekir to Liverpool
Liverpool fans have been sent into a Nabil Fekir frenzy by owner John Henry’s wife Linda Pizzuti.
Fekir’s move to the Reds fell through in June after an 11th hour problem relating to his medical.
However, there is hope Jurgen Klopp and his team will revive the deal before month’s deadline.
And Pizzuti, who is married to FSG bigwig and Liverpool owner Henry, sent fans into meltdown on Thursday when she dropped a cryptic clue regarding Fekir’s arrival.
After Pizzuti posted a photo on Instagram featuring club legends Robbie Fowler and John Arne Riise, one Liverpool fan commented: “Our team is stronger than the previous season. Fantastic transfer business done by the club with the help of FSG. Fekir will be the icing on the cake for this season.”
Pizzuti then decided to ‘like’ the comment, which saw Liverpool fans flock to the post, believing it was a clue Fekir will be joining.
Edinson Cavani to Real Madrid
Real Madrid’s interest in Eden Hazard to succeed Cristiano Ronaldo has faded and they are now intent on securing a deal for Paris Saint-Germain frontman Edinson Cavani, according to reports in Spain.
Hazard has been a long-standing target for the Bernabeu giants with Florentino Perez supposedly ‘obsessed’ with trying to snatch the Belgian international.
The Blues are desperate to keep hold of their prize asset and are supposedly demanding £178m for him which would make him the second most expensive player of all time if a transfer went through.
And now according to Spanish paper AS, Real are distancing themselves from Hazard and are focussing their efforts on trying to sign Cavani.
The Uruguay striker enjoyed a fine World Cup and helped his country knock out Ronaldo’s Portugal in the last 16 of the tournament.
AS claim that Cavani could take home around £12.4m a season if he moves to the Spanish capital.
With speculation over Karim Benzema’s future, were Cavani to make the switch, it would ease the pressure on the Frenchman.
Manchester United Transfer News: The Red Devils will offer £27m for Yerry Mina
Yerry Mina hijack
Manchester United are looking to spoil Everton’s pursuit of Barcelona defender Yerry Mina, reports claim.
Yesterday Goal claimed that Marco Silva’s side were confident of seeing their revised £27million bid for the Colombia international accepted.
But there could be a problems.
And that problem is Manchester United, who French media outlet RMC claim will launch a late deal to hijack their Premier League rivals.
The report claims United are prepared to match Everton’s £27million offer and meet his wage demands.
