Speaking about working on the drama, Jessie, 45, commented: “We were saying, when we did the read through in Ireland, they talked softly, softly like you. And, we’re like…”
The soap star than launched into a cockney twang, while her actor companion went on: “Bull in a china shop! We felt so out of place.”
Later in the broadcast, the pair were asked if Redwater was a success, would that mean that’d never return to Albert Square.
Shaking her head, Jessie admitted: “Never say never,” as Shane, 53, continued: “We were talking about this and I hate the thought of never going back to EastEnders. I love to think we could marry the two somehow.”
“But, I’m happy In Ireland!” she told him, which was followed by a light-hearted warning from Angela, 33, who had just moments earlier called her by her character, Kat Slater’s name.
“You can move there but just don’t try the accent,” the red head quipped, before they all burst into giggles.
An amused user watching at home tweeted: “Brilliant, Angela Scanlon absolutely ruining Jessie Wallace for her ‘oirish’ accent #TheOneShow.”(sic)
