They had a delightful chat planned with Michelle Gayle, who used to star in EastEnders, but is currently treading the boards in Harry Potter spin-off, The Cursed Child.
Despite the magical nature of J.K. Rowling’s series, it seemed Michelle didn’t want to actually discuss any of the more whimsical parts of the play.
That didn’t stop cheeky Matt, who couldn’t help but quiz her on magic and the whole thing brought about an hilarious moment.
“So you’re in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” Matt began. “How are you getting on with the magic side of things.”
Michelle let out a grin as she admitted: “Magic isn’t my calling, Matt.”
She started to point at The One Show presenter and jokingly yelled: “He knows!
“I told him in the dressing room, ‘Don’t mention the magic’.”
Nevertheless, Michelle continued: “I’m getting the hand of magic. It’s very difficult, you know, to be a good a witch as Hermione.”
She added: “I’m trying my best, but it’s daunting to play such an iconic character, I’ve got to be honest.
“Sometimes, you have to inhale and say, ‘Oh my goodness’. It’s a big responsibility.”
Matt went on to explain there was a reason behind him bringing up magic, as they aired a short film presented by Kate Thornton, which looked into explaining how some tricks were completed.
Michelle is currently starring as Hermione Grainger, who was played by Emma Watson in the original films.
The show is set 19 years after the main events from Hogwarts school and it sees the famous magical trio face new adventures with their children.
Tickets are notoriously tough to come by and the West End show has been popular since it debuted at the Palace Theatre in London in 2016.
Meanwhile on The One Show, things will be looking a little different over the coming weeks as Alex Jones takes some maternity leave.
She will be replaced by a whole host of famous faces in the coming weeks.
Stacey Dooley, Emma Willis, Mel Geidroyc and Michelle Ackerley will all take turns presenting The One Show.
Angelica will host for another three weeks before the above names step in.
The One Show airs weeknights on BBC One from 7pm.
