The Flash (played by Grant Gustin) has shied away from fighting back against Cicada (Sarah Carter) in recent episodes.
While he has certainly had a lot on his plate, he won’t be able to avoid the metahuman murderer for much longer.
And episode 21 of season five will see Barry come up against Cicada once again, and she is determined to kill the scarlet speedster.
With just a couple of episodes left of this season, Barry and Cicada are sure to embark on a brutal battle against one another, and Cicada’s actor has now spoken out about what is to come.
Speaking to ComicBook.com, Cicada actor Sarah bluntly said: “She just wants to kill them
“This show is so delightful to be a part of because the characters are all so fascinating and the actors who play all of the characters are great human beings and intelligent and generous and good at their jobs.
“So, just when they say ‘action,’ we are all these playful moving parts. It’s almost like kids playing characters in a school yard.
“There’s an element of just free for all. I think knowing who they are outside of when they say ‘action,’ helps me to feel really safe and open and playful when I’m actually my character.”
Despite the nice intentions of the actors and crew in the show, Sarah hasn’t lost touch with what exactly Cicada wants.
She went on: “I can kind of anticipate how that character’s gonna come at me and how I can relate to them and what their strengths are and what their limitations are.
“But [Cicada] just has the very clear, simple motive which is to kill.”
And that is certainly what Cicada is intending to do, according the show’s plot synopsis for episode 21.
Things don’t sound like they are going to get any easier for Barry, as the plot synopsis reads: “Cicada II makes her move.
“Team Flash is on high alert after Cicada II threatens to unleash a dangerous virus that would put all meta-humans at risk.”
Obviously this virus would kill Barry, Nora, Cisco (Carlos Valdes), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), and Cecile (Danielle Nicolet).
