Bradley Walsh was back hosting the show and joining him was Dan, Claire, Angela and Max.
Viewers tuned in to see the first three contestants successfully secure £18,000 for the jackpot and it was Max’s turn to face the Chaser next.
As he joined Bradley for the cash builder round, the host asked Max about his personal life, to which he explained how he was an Oxford University student.
And those at home were quick to comment on the choice of contestants appearing on the show.
Taking to Twitter one said: “Oh god another oxford student #TheChase.”
“Another Oxford fella…!!! #TheChase” someone commented.
A third added: “Is is me or do they always have an Oxford Uni student on the show?” #TheChase.”
It comes after yesterday’s quiz show instalment which saw another student from the prestigious university face the Chaser.
“Let’s hope this Oxford Uni student is a big more successful than the “history” student from yesterday #TheChase,” a Tweet read.
“Max and Sam are giving Oxford University a bad name #TheChase,” a viewer suggested.
Yesterday, Sam built up £6,000 after correctly answering six questions but when he faced the Chaser, he failed to choose the correct answers.
Instead, Anne caught him up and for him the chase was over.
Nevertheless, the other three remaining teammates sailed through to the final round with the chance of winning £18,000.
They managed to secure 23 steps ahead and Bradley was shocked by this high figure obtained.
He said: “One of the best scores I’ve seen on this show in a long, long while.”
As for Anne, she had to agree that it was going to be a tough number to beat.
“That is one of the highest, if not the highest score we’ve see on the series, very well done.”
Unfortunately for the quiz master, time was not on her side and she didn’t beat 23.
“I didn’t actually expected to catch that i just wanted to make it as close as i could,” she commented.
Today’s contestants, Dan, Claire and Angela, each went home with £6,000 of winnings.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
