Strictly Come Dancing fans were shocked yesterday when Seann Walsh and Katya Jones were spotted kissing while out in public.
The pair were caught in pictures and video getting very close following a night out in London.
Seann and Katya both issued apologies about the event, blaming alcohol for their actions.
Never one to stay quiet, Piers Morgan hit out at the “awkward” moment on Good Morning Britain earlier today.
Piers said this morning: “What is it with the water with Strictly Come Dancing?”
Susanna Reid added: “It’s going to be slightly awkward…”
But with the pair carrying on with the competition, Piers admitted it is going to be slightly more tense.
“Now they have to carry one with each other and we know there is a little more fission in the air.
“This is awkward if you’re one of their partners…” he continued. “You probably wouldn’t want to see this every weekend.”
Piers finished by explaining how alcohol is a “terrible thing”.
Susanna went on to add: “That’s why I’ve given up – and I don’t do terrible things anymore.
“There was no drunken snogging during my time on Strictly.”
Piers took the opportunity to joke about the real reason he has never been on Stickily Come Dancing.
He giggled: “That’s why I wouldn’t do it, those dancers would find me too irresistible.
“This thing of dancing with someone that closely for weeks on end, human nature…
“So many [actors] have affairs because they’re just so intimate with [each other].”
Following on from the pictures, Seann took to Twitter to comment on the pictures: “In light of the story in today’s newspaper I would like to offer my sincere apologies for my actions.
“This is no excuse but it was a one-off drunken mistake which I am truly sorry for.”
Katya added: “I’m so sorry about any offence or hurt I may have caused with my actions. I wasn’t thinking and it was a one-off mistake after some drinks.
“I love my husband and we are very happy together, this is not a reflection on our relationship.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One at 6.40pm and Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am.
