He explained: “Nearly all of them said just be yourself, enjoy it, don’t worry if you’re not the most talented, which I’m certainly not,
“But give it your all, work it, do those 14 hours a day, put all the hours in and just enjoy it, just enjoy the team as well.”
The sports presenter revealed how he bonded with his dancing co-stars as they learnt their first group dance.
“I have only known the other celebs for about two weeks,” Mike said.”It feels like I have known them for years.
“They’ve been so supportive, so if I go out in the first week I will be back here every week to cheer them on, you really feel part of it.
Mike went on to admit he’s finding learning the new moves a lot harder than he first thought.
He explained: “I now realise what a physical sport dancing is.
“The athleticism you need to just do the lifts, finding muscles you never knew you had.
“And then on the mental side, it is like patting your head and rubbing your stomach at the same time, and all to music that is at a fast pace.”
Mike then confessed there’s once dance in particular he’s not looking forward to trying.
He said: “The Paso Doble as well, which I really did think was brilliant until I started it.”
Emma stars as Honey Mitchell in EastEnders and Eva Price star Catherine left the cobbles in 2018.
Speaking to press including Express.co.uk, Emma was asked if there was a rivalry between the pair.
She revealed: “I love her, no not at all.
“Not just Cath everyone of us we’re all gushing a little bit, I know that’s not what you want to hear but it’s a lovely group.”
