Strictly Come Dancing 2018: Stacey Dooley issued warning over Kevin Clifton dance

Appearing on ’s sister show It Takes Two last night, Ian, 47, was quick to pull up , 31, on her mistakes as he critiqued the couple’s rehearsal.

Joined by show host Zoe Ball, 47, the former Strictly professional did say Stacey was doing well but needed to work on a couple of things.

Stacey and her partner Kevin, 35, blew the judges away at the weekend when they performed a Quickstep as the characters from the movie Despicable Me.

However, Ian suggested the pair needed to be closer together for their upcoming dance as viewers were shown the couple in rehearsal.

As Zoe moved on to speak about Stacey, the host said: “Everybody loved their Minion Quickstep last week, they’ve got a Foxtrot this week, can she keep up that level of performance?

Ian then gave his critique, stating there were a few points the pair needed to work on before taking to the dance floor this weekend.

The dancer said: “There are three points I would like her to work on. Firstly, they’re gapping a lot, she needs to keep her body up to Kevin.

“Also, you can see she has this elbow up in the air, that needs to stay flat so we don’t get any lifting of the elbow, he continued as he referred to the footage.

Ian then added: “Then her head, she sometimes comes into Kevin a little bit, she needs to keep it out to that left hand side.

“Shape it, slide it across like lovely Joanne Clifton said the other day,” Ian concluded as he addressed Karen’s advice. “Then she’ll look gorgeous,” Ian added.

However, earlier in the segment, Ian did praise the couple and in particular Stacey’s footwork.

Referring to the footage, Ian said: “They’re just going though the steps here and it’s flowing nicely.”

Ian then surprised Zoe by saying: “I particular like her feet,” but then paused to laugh when he realised what he said.

The professional then repeated: “I particularly like her feet,” with Zoe teasing him, adding: “You love Stacey Dooley’s feet, secret’s out.”

Trying to move on from the humorous moment, Ian said: “The footwork is quite good.

“She is doing some really good heel leads there where they should be and the toes where they should be which is always the difficult thing in Foxtrot.”

Also on last night’s programme, Seann Walsh, 32, and Katya Jones, 29, spoke publicly for the first time about their kiss.

The Strictly couple were pictured kissing last week, with the images emerging in the media over the weekend.

Appearing on the show, the couple apologised again for their actions after taking to Twitter earlier in the week.

Seann said: “I think that obviously I’m sorry for the hurt I have caused.

“We were getting on well, we were having fun, we had a couple of drinks and made a huge mistake and regret it deeply.”

Katya added: “I apologise to everyone it hurt and it involved.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One, with it Takes Two airing weeknights on BBC Two at 6.30pm.
