Two of the BBC show’s professionals have now opened up about what viewers can expect from the tribute, saying it will be moving for all.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Neil and Katya Jones spilled the beans, revealing that they and their co-stars had even found rehearsals very “emotional”.
When asked about the upcoming group number, the Russian beauty commented: “We are definitely putting our hearts and souls into the performance.”
The 24-year-old, who wed her co-star back in 2013, continued: “It’s going to be emotional because even in practise, we all got very emotional.”
Meanwhile, Neil – who joined the programme last year but is yet to be partnered with a celebrity – said the talented group wanted to pay their respects to the legendary entertainer.
“He was the show,” he said. “I’ve been watching him all my life, we loved him and we want to show him as much respect as possible.”
Neil went on: “There’s a beautiful number for him and we can’t wait to show everyone. It was [moving], I don’t want to give it away but I imagine the audience are going to be in tears.”
It comes after the BBC confirmed they would be honouring the late former host, who died on August 18.
Executive producer Louise Rainbow previously said: “We will be paying tribute to Sir Bruce at our launch show and this will include a heartfelt performance from our Strictly professional dancers.
“We all want to celebrate him and all that he loved about the show. Sir Bruce was, and will always be, a huge part of Strictly Come Dancing.”
