PC gamers will be eager for Steam’s Black Friday deals to drop, hoping to bag a bargain on a game or two. The digital gaming platform is notoriously tight-lipped about sales. However, the plaform holds sales at various times throughout the year.
When do Steam deals go live?
Given Steam are hush hush about their sales, a date or time for their Black Friday sale has yet to be released.
However, the Steam Black Friday sale is expected to take place on the day itself, Friday, November 23 according to one website.
Countdown website whenisthenextsteamsale.com is currently counting down until Friday for the Steam sale.
The website gathers data from previous years to predict upcoming sales.
The site says: “These predictions are a combination of the following factors: dates and months in which sales started, which day of the week a sale usually starts, how long a sale usually lasts and what dates/events a sale generally hits.
“Furthermore the dates are updated every now and then when there is more information in recent news.
“As you can see there are multiple sources to find out when a sale will most likely start.”
The site accurately predicted last year’s Black Friday sale.
Valve Corporation who developed Steam, don’t always dub their November sales ‘Black Friday’, last year calling it their Autumn Sale.
There have been some rumours that dates for an autumn sale have been leaked, with a Twitter account circulating screen grabs of details, and a source reportedly sharing the dates.
According to both of these sources, the autumn sale will begin on November 21 and end on November 27.
They also have dates for the winter sale, which apparently will begin on December 20 and end on January 3.
Details of which games will be included in the sales are yet to be released.
Both may be the perfect opportunity to grab presents or a treat for yourself when the sales are on.
Black Friday officially takes place this week, on Friday, November 23.
