Ticketmaster have confirmed that the band’s comeback tour – scheduled for summer 2019 – was their busiest ever sale. At one point, a rep confirmed, over 700,000 people were in the online queue. The girls had announced six dates, which quickly became ten when demand proved to be exceptional.
Andrew Parsons, managing director at Ticketmaster, said according to Metro: “Demand for Spice Girls was off the chart. They have smashed through Ticketmaster UK’s records becoming the busiest ever sale.
“There were millions of people on our site searching for tickets, with a queue at one point of well over 700,000.
“Hundreds of thousands of tickets were sold to happy fans across the country within minutes. Congratulations to the girls.
“From what we saw, they could have played nearly every night for a year.”
Stunned Melanie C tweeted: “I know you’ve been bombarded with promo stuff lately but I just wanted to say I’m completely overwhelmed with the response to our tour. Wow!

And Geri Horner tweeted: “Thank you to all our lovely fans that have come out in full force today. Amazing! @spicegirls.”
The Spice Girls will be accompanied by Jess Glynne at all ten of the concerts, which begin in Manchester on May 29 and end in London on June 15.
They are expected to announce international dates in due course.
