Jos Luhukay takes charge of Sheffield Wednesday for the first time on Friday night (7.45pm) as the Owls make the short trip to Steel City rivals Sheffield United.
Former Hertha Berlin and Augsburg boss Luhukay, 54, was appointed as Carlos Carvalhal’s successor last week.
He is known in Germany as a promotion expert after guiding four clubs to the Bundesliga.
However, Luhukay has no experience of English football.
But he doesn’t think that will be a problem and said: “Football is football, it’s not different. I like to be here.
“I have seen a lot of games and I hope I can learn the players and their qualities very fast.”
The Owls head into the clash 16th in the Championship – nine places and 12 points behind the Blades.
Chris Wilder strengthen his squad with three new additions this week.
Ryan Leonard, Lee Evans and James Wilson joined from Southend, Wolves and Manchester United respectively.
They will be hoping to make their debuts at Bramall Lane.
