07.50: Antoine Griezmann has supposedly told Real Madrid he will reject Barcelona if Los Blancos meet his demands.
In recent months Barcelona have emerged as surprising front runners for the player’s signature, with Griezmann being mooted as a potential replacement for Luis Suarez.
Yet Spanish outlet Diario Gol say the player is ready to turn his back on Barcelona to sign for Madrid instead – yet only if the club bow to his demands.
The striker is only ready to go to Real if they promise him first-team football.
Los Blancos’ current forwards are all misfiring, leading to talk one of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale or Karin Benzema will jump ship at the end of the season.
And Griezmann wants to be promised a place in Zinedine Zidane’s XI, such is his reluctance to make do with a place among the substitutes.
The 26-year-old is also said to want help in order to realise his dream of winning the Ballon d’Or.
Harry Kane messages
07.40: Fans are bombarding Harry Kane with messages begging him to sign for Real Madrid.
Kane picked up the Premier League player of the month for December and posted a picture of himself picking up the accolade on Twitter.
It caps off a dream 2017 for the Tottenham striker, who has beaten Alan Shearer’s calendar-year record for Premier League goals with 39.
That’s prompted Real Madrid to show interst in the Spurs frontman and now their supporters have taken to Twitter to beg him to join.
One wrote: “Harry Kane Please I want you Play for Real Madrid. i everday pray to my God I want you Please At Real Madrid.”
Hazard contract update
07.30: Eden Hazard has claimed he will sign a new contract and Chelsea despite interest from Real Madrid.
Hazard has been linked with a move to Spain and his father said he’d rejected a new deal at Chelsea to wait on their interest.
But now the Belgium star say he, and Thibaut Courtois, will sign new contracts.
“Yes,” Hazard told Mirror Football when asked whether he will sign a new deal with the champions.
“I think Thibaut first. Then I will sign.”
Balague on transfers
07.30: Guillem Balague has revealed the latest on Real Madrid’s transfer plans.
Madrid are expected to undergo a big overhaul in the summer with pressure mounting on manager Zinedine Zidane.
Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois have been linked with moves and Balague thinks they are top targets.
When asked in a Sky Sports Q and A if Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is a target for Madrid, Balague flipped the issue onto the Reds’ Premier League rivals.
He replied: “Real Madrid are deciding what to do next, both in terms of the coaches and players.
“I think the priority is clearly Courtois and Hazard but in the least, there is list of other potential players forming but the priority in the summer will be Hazard and Courtois.
“I’m sure they will have plan B and plan C.”
