Rainbow Six Siege operators: New leak hints at post Para Bellum plans

It looks like the new Rainbow Six Siege Para Bellum content will be followed by new operators which could add to the offensive mix.

According to dataminers, evidence has been found that suggests that a new breacher is in the works.

With the barest details currently available, it looks like a new character is being worked that will be equipped with a blowtorch.

This would suggest that Ubisoft are planning to release a new hard breacher, following the release of Para Bellum in June.

This lines up with what R6’s marketing director Alex Remy revealed during the recent Season 7 pro league finals in Atlantic City.

Remy confirmed that the team were working on a new operator with breaching skills, although he didn’t confirm if this character would be able to cut through reinforced walls or not.

The latest datamining efforts suggests that they will have this ability, however, it should also be noted that this could change in the future.

As Ubisoft themselves have not confirmed this information officially yet, it should be be treated as just a report at this time.

It would make sense to add a new hard breacher, what with the new pick & ban system coming into effect very soon.

Being able to remove both the current hard breachers out of play means that a third would keep the option available.

The datamine also found evidence of new loot boxes coming to the game in the near future, although it’s unclear what they will contain.

Fans won’t have to wait long until the new Rainbow Six Siege Year 3 Season 2 content goes live.

Currently available for testing on PC, the new Para Bellum expansion includes a new map, the pick & ban system, and two operators.

New operator, Alibi, is an undercover infiltration specialist in the Italian Gruppo di Intervento Speciale (G.I.S.) unit. She is a cunning adversary with a gift for infiltrating dense networks of organised crime. Alibi is notable for her deployable Hologram, a mechanism that makes it difficult for enemies to positively identify her from her incredibly realistic projections.

New Operator, Maestro, is another member of the Italian, Gruppo di Intervento Speciale (G.I.S.) and participated in joint operations in Iraq, earning a facial scar from a roadside IED. Maestro is notable for his remote access turret, which is also bulletproof, capable of seeing through smoke, and able to fire low powered-laser beams.

The Pick & Ban system feature provides an extra layer of strategy between teams, as each side tries to counter their opponents’ picks during the banning phase. Players can even anticipate a thrilling twist at the last moment, when teams swap Operators for the unexpected 6th Pick.
