Queen Elizabeth net worth: Reigning Queen of United Kingdom’s mammoth fortune REVEALED

Queen Elizabeth’s portrait is on the head of the UK’s currency, so it’ll come as no surprise that she’s worth quite a lot.

According to an estimate published by Forbes Magazine back in 2016, the royal’s net worth stands at around $ 530 million (around £400.4 million).

The 92-year-old is the oldest monarch in British history, and is the richest member of the royal family.

The monarch currently lives at Buckingham Palace in London, but owns a wealth of properties across her kingdom.

The British monarchy’s wealth comes from inherited lands and investments.

However, Queen Elizabeth and the royal family’s finances come from a number of sources.

The Queen’s three main sources of income are the Duchy of Lancaster estate, the Sovereign Grant, and her personal property and investments.

The former is a portfolio of land, property and assets, which is held in trust for the Sovereign in their role as the Duke of Lancaster.

In 2018, the assets was valued at £534 million.

The Duchy of Lancaster is held in trust for future Sovereigns, with the net income of the Duchy being paid to the Queen – a value which amounts to about £20 million per year.

This is known as the Privy Purse, and is the private wealth used to fund the rest of the royal family.

A Sovereign Grant, which is issued by the government, is also available for the reigning monarch.

This grant is derived from the profits of the Crown Estate – with 15 per cent of profits being made available. It is based on the revenues in the financial year two years previously.

The annual lump sum covers the cost of travel, security, and staff, as well as the upkeep of royal palaces.

Another source of the Queen’s income is the profits of her own personal assets.

Queen Elizabeth personally owns Balmoral Castle in Scotland, and the Sandringham Estate in the east of England.

The royal inherited the real estate from the father, and has donated particular properties to her grandchildren as wedding gifts in the past.

Prince William, 36, who is second in line to the throne, and his wife Kate Middleton, 36, were given the country home Anmer Hall, in the grounds of Sandringham Estate, following their nuptials in 2011.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge lived in the Norfolk home for the first few years of their marriage, before later moving back to London.

Earlier this year, Prince Harry, 34, who is now the sixth heir to the throne, married American actress Meghan Markle, 37.

Following their wedding, the pair took on the role of Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and received an extravagant gift from the Queen.

The gift took the form of York Cottage, a country house in the grounds of Sandringham Estate.
