PUBG PS4 RELEASE DATE revealed: HUGE new Battlegrounds launch update for PlayStation

PUBG appears to finally have a release date on PS4.

New reports suggest that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will make its PlayStation 4 debut in December.

According to a new post on Resetera, PUBG game files have been found on the European and North American PSN stores.

Administrator ZhugeEX seemingly confirms the reports, telling users that the game will launch next month.

This ties in nicely with the theory that PUBG developer Bluehole had signed a 12 month exclusivity deal with Microsoft.

PUBG Battlegrounds made its Xbox One debut on December 12, 2017.

Expect the PS4 version to launch around the same sort of date this year, perhaps with the brand new winter map.

The news comes as Bluehole reveals its brand new eSports plans.

Beginning next January, the inaugural season of the PUBG global pro competition sees a host of regional teams compete to be named the best squad in the world.

As Bluehole explains, the competition will feature three different phases, culminating with the Global Championship.

“After Phases 1 and 2, the top teams from each region will compete head-to-head in third-party-hosted global events, followed by a global All-Star Games.

“At the end of Phase 3, the top-performing teams throughout the season will gather for a Global Championship – the survivors of which will have a shot at a $ 2 million prize pool and the right to call themselves the best PUBG players in the world.”

The different regions include North America, Korea, China, Europe/Middle East/Africa, Japan, Chinese Taipei/Hong Kong/Macau, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Oceania.

Featuring universal rules and point scoring, teams of four will battle it out across Miramar and Erangel in first-person mode.

Elsewhere, Microsoft is also teasing some big PUBG news for its XO18 event on November 10.
