Louise McLeod (played by Maria Theodorakis) made a dramatic return to Erinsborough this week, when she was revealed as the kidnapper of Paige Smith’s (Olympia Valance) baby, Gabe.
On the run for her involvement in the death of Russell Brennan (Russell Kiefel), Louise demanded money and a fake passport from ex-cop Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor).
As Mark tried to conduct his own negotiations to bring baby Gabe back safely, anxious father Jack Callahan (Andrew Morley) decided to take matters into his own hands and call the police.
Whilst Jack’s interference put Louise behind bars, the whereabouts of baby Gabe remained unknown, and with Louise refusing to talk, Paige started to fear the worst.
Luckily, a clue found by Sonya (Eve Morey) and Toadie Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney) led Mark and the police to Louise’s hideout, but to everyone’s horror, Gabe was nowhere to be seen.
Just when Paige and Jack started to think that they have never see their son again, a mysterious guardian angel returned Gabe and left him on their doorstep.
Whilst everyone celebrated the safe return of Gabe, David Tanaka (Takaya Honda) looked set for heartbreak when boyfriend Aaron Brennan’s (Matt Wilson) past returned to haunt him.
After rejecting his offer of moving in together, David decided that he would propose to Aaron in a bid to show that he is serious about their relationship.
With everything set in place for a romantic proposal, David sprung his surprise on Aaron, but his timing couldn’t have been worse.
With brother Tyler Brennan (Travis Burns) facing prison for the manslaughter of Hamish Roche (Sean Taylor) and the return of his ex Rory Zemiro (Ash Williams), an overwhelmed Aaron turned David down.
Aaron soon explained his reaction to David and the pair decided to put the proposal in the past, but Aaron failed to reveal that his ex Rory is in town.
When Aaron begged Rory to keep their innocent meeting in Paris a secret from David, Rory suspected that Aaron’s feelings for David might be wavering and decided to stay in Erinsborough for a while.
As Aaron and David’s relationship looked headed for the rocks, it was all plain sailing for recently reunited Toadie and Sonya, quite literally.
After their vow renewal ceremony, Toadie and Sonya spent a romantic night on the Brennan’s boat, only to find the next morning that they had drifted out to sea!
Rather than panic, the pair decided to take advantage of the time alone and press ahead with their plan to expand their family with another baby.
However, unbeknownst to the happy couple, dark clouds loom on the horizon with what looks like the return of ‘Fake Dee’, Andrea Somers (Madeleine West), who went unseen at their vow renewal, watching them from afar in a taxi.
Although this time, could it be the real Dee Bliss who turns the lives of the Rebecchi’s upside-down in 2018?
