Ever since Andrea Somers (played by Madeleine West) first appeared on Neighbours, she has played Toadie (Ryan Maloney) for a fool, making him believe she was his dead wife Dee Bliss (Madeleine West).
However, Toadie had been getting his life back on track with wife Sonya Rebecchi (Eve Morey) after he fathered a child, Hugo, with Andrea when the two took a trip to London last year.
With Andrea still claiming she was Dee a few months ago, Toadie and Sonya paid for the troubled character to be given treatment in a psychiatric unit in Tazmania.
Now believing Andrea can’t play with them anymore, Toadie and Sonya should be worried as a mystery character with a connection to Andrea arrives on the Channel 5 soap.
It was announced earlier this year that Australian actress Kerry Armstrong will be playing Alice Wells, who will join the Rebecchi household as the family live-in nanny.
Not knowing Alice’s true identity, Sonya will welcome the nanny into the family home, naïve to Alice’s sinister motives to bring Hugo’s birth parents together.
Speaking exclusively about her character, Kerry told Express.co.uk: “She’s one of these creatures that you can never tell she’s the real Alice. There’s not just one Alice.
“There seems to be two or three or even four elements of her and so I think the interesting thing the writers have done is created a character which has no boundaries.
“You just don’t know what’s she going to do next,” the actress explained.
Alice wants to bring Toadie back to Andrea and will stop at noting to make sure her daughter is reunited with the father of her child.
“Anything that stands in the way of their coming together as a family needs to be obliterated or removed,” Kerry explained.
Continuing to talk about bring removing Sonya from the family setup, Kerry said: “Alice believes that there are imposters living in the Rebecchi house and Alice believes that Sonya is one of them.
“With all her heart she knows her grandson needs his mother and father to be together and there’s one thing in the way.
“Alice can see that and it’s Alice desire and Alice’s job to make sure that if anything is standing in the way of Hugo and Andrea and Toadie’s happiness, it is removed.”
Although Alice does her best to disrupt the Rebbechi household, not all her plans will go the way she wants them to play out.
Kerry explained: “What’s wonderful is that not everything succeeds or goes right with Alice. I think she’s slightly deluded in how much power she has.
“There’s this wonderful comedy of errors in some parts and in other parts, she achieves her goal in the most spine-chilling way.”
However, as the storyline continues to play out over the coming weeks, will Alice manage to achieve her ultimate goal.
Alice will arrive in Erinsborough next week when the Fake Dee plot thickens.
Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5, with a repeat at 5.30pm.
