Cassius Grady (played by Joe Davidson) has been acting rather suspiciously ever since he was introduced to Neighbours.
He’s obviously a man with many secrets, and very little is known about his past.
Fans have been eager to find out what he’s hiding.
Tuesday’s episode may have given viewers a little clue regarding his closely guarded secret.
Cassius has come to Ramsay Street with an ulterior motive and his reaction to being offered a room in the Canning House may have given it away.
The ripped gardener explained his current living situation to his girlfriend, Piper Willis (Mavournee Hazel), and admitted that he needed a more permanent place to live since they are now going to be seeing a lot more of one another.
Sheila Canning (Colette Mann), then suggested that he could live in their spare room.
She was attempting to repay him after he agreed to help her granddaughter, Xanthe Canning (Lilly Van der Meer), with her physiotherapy.
Cassius, however, turned down the offer saying that he didn’t want to mix his personal life with his work life.
Piper didn’t buy Cassius’ excuse, but he later told her that it was because he wanted to stop Ianthe’s crush on him from getting in the way of their relationship.
Piper seemed to accept this excuse, yet Cassius’ words didn’t so easily persuade fans.
Many of them took to Twitter to posit that Cassius didn’t want to stay in the Canning house because it frightened him.
This lead people to theorise that it’s because Cassius is actually related to the Canning family and doesn’t want to stay in the house where Hamish Roche (Sean Taylor) was murdered.
“Cassius is Gaz’s son!” wrote one user on Twitter.
“He wants to live with the Cannings and help Xanthe! Cassius Canning here we come.”
Another Twitter user added: “Cassius definitely has a connection with Hamish.
“He doesn’t want to live in the house where he died. Constant reminder.”
A third user theorised: “Cassius refused that room because he can’t live in the house where he killed Tyler’s dad.”
Digital Spy asked Colette Man about Cassius, and she gave a teasing response.
“I’ve got three or four big scenes [coming up with Cassius], where I deal with him in a different way,” she revealed.
“Cassius has a secret, which of course hasn’t come out yet.”
She added: “If I told you what it is, I’d have to kill you and that’d be quite unpleasant!”
It certainly sounds as if there’s going to be a big revelation to do with Cassius’ background.
Neighbours airs weekdays on Channel 5 at 1.45pm, with a repeat at 5.30pm.
