Nicola Charles, who first appeared in Neighbours in 1995, has hinted at a comeback almost 20 years after she quit the show.
The 48-year-old Bristish-born actress revealed she is in talks with producer Jason Herbison to reprise her role as Sarah Beaumont.
“I’ve had a conversation with Jason [Herbison], and I’m going to meet him for coffee to discuss what’s happening,” she said.
“I think it would be marvelous, I’d love to go back.”
Since departing from the show, Nicola has created her own business, filmed a number of commercials and has recently began writing a novel.
Despite all her success, Nicola regrets leaving the show and admitted she made a “bad” decision.
“I feel bad for the decision I made a long time ago to leave [Neighbours] and for the character. I believed [at the time] that I was leaving for all the right reasons,” she confessed to Mail Online Australia.
“My life just completely went to s**t, it was a 20-year journey of learning and regret after Neighbours, but I think it’s brought me to a place now of complete happiness.”
However, Nicola did make brief appearances in the Australian series in 2012, 2013 and 2016.
Nicola’s on-screen character Sarah was Karl Kennedy’s (Alan Fletcher) secretary at his surgery and also his mistress.
When she was diagnosed with cancer she moved to Germany to have chemotherapy at a state-of-the-art research facility.
Nicola, who has recently been showing off her incredible 13kg weight loss on social media, said she was delighted with the results.
“I’ve got myself in a really great place in life. I’ve lost about 30 pounds in weight [13 kilograms] which I’ve wanted to do for a long time.
“I’m running again and just feeling good about life.”
Meanwhile, in Neighbours Finn Kelly (played Rob Mills) arrived in Ramsay Street with his new girlfriend Beatrix Nilson (Bonnie Anderson).
Fans of the show will remember Finn – AKA Patrick – from his previous stint on the soap, but little is known about his return.
Bonnie recently told Express.co.uk her character Beatrix trusts Patrick, she said: “She’s very guarded and she doesn’t trust people but when Patrick came into her life it changed.
“The cool part of the story is she does think Patrick is the only one she could trust and it was him who brought her back to Erinsborough.”
When asked if Beatrix has put her trust in the wrong man, the brunette beauty replied: “Absolutely!
Neighbours airs weekdays on Channel 5 from 1.45pm and is repeated at 5.30pm.
