The couple are known to have a strong attachment to Botswana, a country in Southern Africa.
They spent both their third date, which took place in 2016, and Meghan’s 36th birthday last year in the country.
So why is it that Prince Harry is travelling to Botswana without Meghan at the moment?
A Palace representative have confirmed Prince Harry is making a solo trip without his wife.
The reason for his visit is said to be a “private working trip” rather than a holiday for leisure.
Harry is is “on a private working trip to Botswana to join the Annual General Meeting for Rhino Conservation Botswana in his capacity as Patron,” a Palace representative told E! News.
“He attended the Board meeting in Maun and an RCB community project in Xarakao village.”
Speaking previously of Botswana during the couple’s engagement interview, Harry referred to it as the ‘perfect place’ for the then new couple.
He said: “Because I was off to Africa for a month, and she was working. And we just sort of right where is, where’s the gap?
“And, the gap happened to be in the perfect place,” he aded.
He also described the couple’s time there together. Harry said: “We camped out with each other under the stars.
“She came and joined me for five days out there, which was absolutely fantastic.”
While Meghan’s present whereabouts are unknown, it has previously been reported she may travel to the US this summer.
Therefore, it is possible her and Harry are using this time to complete their separate travel arrangements.
How did Meghan Markle and Prince Harry meet? Harry had never even heard of Meghan, a former actress, before they met, but the pair shared a mutual friend.
They were introduced on a blind date during the summer of 2016 while Meghan was in London.
Meghan and Harry opened up about their relationship during their engagement interview with the BBC.
“It was definitely a set up. It was a blind date,” Meghan revealed in the televised interview.
Prince Harry added that he had “never even heard” of his now-wife before they met, as he did not watch Suits – the legal drama which the former actress starred in for seven seasons.
