Meghan Markle: Prince Harry bride received ‘cold reception’ from THIS royal family member

Meghan Markle, 36, will marry Prince Harry, 33, in a royal wedding ceremony at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

While Queen Elizabeth II, 91, approved the wedding in an official letter, it seems not every member of the royal family is a fan of Meghan.

One particular family member gave her a “cold” reception at her first large family gathering, a source has exclusive revealed to Express.co.uk.

While Prince Philip, 96, is said to be a fan of Meghan, it is believed his second oldest son, Prince Andrew, 58, certainly isn’t.

The Duke of York is said to have displayed a noticeable dislike of Meghan compared to the rest of the royals.

“Meghan met a lot of the royal family at Sandringham House last Christmas,” the source told us.

“Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice got on fantastically well with Meghan.

“It was all fine with Prince Edward, Duke of Wessex and his family.”

This meant Prince Andrew’s negative reaction stood out from the rest.

“She had a cold reception from the Duke of York,” the source said.

The Duke of York’s ex wife Sarah Ferguson was away in Australia at the time.

Therefore, it is impossible to know how she would have reacted, said the source.

However, it has previously been said that Meghan Markle and Sarah Ferguson resemble each other.

The source also gave a little more detail about the Sandringham House family event, which the Queen attended.

“It was all formal and they had meals together downstairs before spending the evening in the saloon,” the source said.

Yesterday, Meghan Markle announced a feminist engagement ahead of the royal wedding.

Meghan, along with Harry, will make an official appearance at a reception dedicated to women’s empowerment on April 19.

The appearance will be an appropriate way to mark one month until their wedding date, given Meghan’s notable attachment to the feminist cause.

The couple will attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) Women’s Empowerment reception which will be held at the Royal Aeronautical Society in London.

It comes after Prince Harry was appointed president of the newly formed youth charity, The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust.
