Meghan Markle latest: Thomas Markle reveals Prince Harry SECRET ‘so no one knows’

Thomas couldn’t be at the Royal Wedding 2018 between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry after he suffered with heart problems.

The father-of-the-bride had to undergo emergency surgery meaning he missed his daughter’s nuptials.

Thomas has been recovering at his home in America but has now spoken out about his daughter and her new husband in his first ever televised interview on Good Morning Britain

He was quizzed by Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid throughout Monday’s edition.

The presenters were especially keen to find out what he thought of Prince Harry after a few phone calls.

Thomas praised the Royal, calling him “a gentleman” and explained how easy it was to talk to him.

He explained he hasn’t met him in person and has only spoken to him over the phone.

The father went on to reveal how Meghan asked Thomas to call Prince Harry by a nickname.

Meghan initially said she had a new boyfriend, before dropping subtle hints about who he really was.

Thomas went on: “At that point she said it’s Harry and I said, ‘Harry… OK’.

“She said we’ll have to call him ‘H’ so no one knows.

“I eventually spoke to him and he was a very nice man, a gentleman – very likeable.”

Thomas went on to discuss some of the political discussions he had with Prince Harry, explaining how he chatted about Donald Trump and Brexit with the Royal.

Thomas added: “His politics are there, we’ve talked about Donald Trump and Brexit.

“He said give Donald trump a chance.

“I disagreed about that but I still liked him.”

Piers asked what Harry thought of Brexit, after Thomas revealed they had discussed the ongoing political climate in the UK.

Meghan’s father revealed: “It was just a loose conversation about ‘something we have to try’.

“There was no real commitment to it.

“I think he was open to the experiment.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am.
