March 10 is the date where Nintendo celebrates one of their most famous franchises with special deals, some of which will last days, others will last 24-hours.
Unfortunately, this year’s Mario Day is on a Sunday, meaning some fans may miss the start of the celebrations.
All of today’s “MAR10 Day” deals are linked to games featuring Mario and also includes a Nintendo Switch bundle for fans in the United States.
Some of these deals can be found on the Nintendo eShop, where there is also a Gold Points promotions going on.
Gold Points are earned from game purchases and can be redeemed for any reward that requires them.
You can also spend them when you purchase Nintendo Switch content on Nintendo eShop or the Nintendo website to get it for less, or even for free.
You can see a record of how you’ve used your points and whether any of your points have expired by going to “Points history”.
Nintendo has confirmed that Switch owners can take advantage of this offer until March 10th, 23:59, whatever your local time is.
“March 10th marks a special day for Super Mario fans, as it’s MAR10 Day! Get it?” Nintendo posted today.
“To celebrate, let’s recap the red-capped hero’s latest outings, where you can receive 2x Gold Points on each purchase of select Nintendo Switch titles on Nintendo eShop, or via our website!”
“Whether he’s saving the Mushroom Kingdom from Bowser’s minions or freeing Princess Peach from Bowser himself, Mario’s adventures never seem to end! From a cap-tivating, globe-trotting journey in Super Mario Odyssey to side-scrolling sprees in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Mario continues to run, jump and stomp his way to restoring peace to the land.”
Unfortunately, most of the other game deals appear to be hosted in North America, meaning UK fans may miss out on some discounts.
Between Sunday, March 10, and Saturday, March 16, fans can purchase select Nintendo Switch systems and one of five select games starring Mario for a suggested retail price of $ 329.98.
Fans can also purchase a digital download code from partnered retail stores – Walmart, Amazon, Best Buy – that can be used on the Nintendo eShop for five Mario games.
This includes Super Mario Party, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Tennis and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
“What better way to celebrate Mario Day than by playing some of the most popular Mario games on Nintendo Switch,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
“This promotion is a great option for consumers who want to pick up Nintendo Switch and some hit games at a value price.”
