Love Island 2018: Alex George hit with devastating blow after just one night in the villa

contestant Alex left ITV2 viewers cringing after none of the love island girls stepped forward to couple up with the doctor.

Alex was left squirming next to host Caroline Flack before he chose Laura Anderson.

However when Wes Nelson arrived, Laura ditched him.

Alex then paired up with Samira Mighty, who seemed far from impressed with the match.

And, it seems that fans don’t believe that he will be sticking around for long after his awkward introduction.

Bookmakers have revealed that Alex is the favourite to be booted out of the competition.

Meanwhile Jack Fincham is the favourite to be part of this year’s winning couple.

Jack paired up with Dani Dyer, the daughter of EastEnders star Danny Dyer.

Bookmakers Ladbrokes revealed that Jack’s odds of winning are slated at 9/4.

However, Alex has been hit with a devastating blow as his odds of winning are at 8/1.

A spokesperson for Ladbrokes commented: “It was a good night for Jack but a disaster for Alex.

“That said it is early days and they are clearly a fickle lot.”

Last night’s launch episode ended on a cliffhanger with new boy Adam Collard stopped from revealing which girl he would like to pair up with.

But despite fans been left waiting to hear what will happen next, the ITV2 ratings were sky high.

Season four opened with 3.4 million viewers.

Ratings are 300,000 viewers higher than last year’s launch.

The first instalment saw Samira Mighty, Laura Anderson, Kendall Rae-Knight, Dani Dyer and Hayley Hughes and get to know one another before the coupling up began.

After everyone was paired up, Adam walked into the villa and warned he “wasn’t ruling out anyone”.

Who will Adam choose and who will be left single?

Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 at 9pm.
