Love Island 2018: Adam sparks Ofcom complaints over Rosie – will ITV2 hit be investigated?

Their rift took place after new girl Zara McDermott took Adam for a date despite being coupled up with Rosie who had earlier performed a sex act on him.

Rosie exploded at Adam as he smiled through her rage. Adam was slammed by viewers following the scene.

Ofcom have received 23 viewer complaints from viewers as Rosie broke down in tears on the 2 reality series.

A spokesperson for Ofcom said: “We assess all broadcast complaints against the broadcasting code before deciding whether to take them on to investigation.”

It comes after Rosie became the latest contestant to be dumped from the villa.

Last night’s episode saw Adam apologise to Rosie after being called out by new boy Sam Bird for his treatment towards her.

Taking Rosie to one side on the terrace, Adam said: “I think that obviously things with me and you haven’t really worked out the best. And I’m sorry.

“I am actually sorry if you felt that way. Whatever you felt, I’m sorry that I upset you. I don’t like seeing anyone cry.”

Rosie replied: “I appreciate that. Seeing you and Zara and the way you are, I just think, because obviously we were close and when we were good we were good, but I didn’t not try if you get me. It was a bit both ways. It takes two to make an effort.”

Adam continued: “Well I’m sorry that you were upset, and it wasn’t nice seeing you upset. I know we’ve got our differences but I didn’t want to see you like that, I really didn’t.

“I just thought at the time it was probably best to give you space.”

Discussing his decision to make amends with Rosie, Adam later said in the Beach Hut: “I really do hope she gets whatever she wants to get out of the villa.

“I really do because it’s not nice seeing someone upset and hopefully it’ll be a bit of a distraction as well as something real. Me and Zara have got something going on so hopefully she can too.”

As the pair finally called a truce, Rosie admitted: “That’s all I wanted, was to be your friend.

“But I did want you to know that I did really like you and I did have feelings for you.

“It was never fake on my part anyway and I did want to see what would happen and obviously it hasn’t worked out.

“All I want is just to be friends with you so I’m glad you pulled me up. Thank you. Want to hug it out.”

The show was previously investigated in 2016 after viewers were left stunned by the graphic nature of Terry Walsh and Emma-Jane Woodham’s shocking sex scene, which was shown just 10 minutes after the watershed.

Ofcom also received complaints in 2017 as contestants were seen to constantly smoke throughout episodes.

continues tomorrow on 2 at 9pm.
