Legion is coming to an end next week with the release of season three.
When viewers last saw David Haller (played by Dan Stevens) he was escaping, and his new role as the villain was just beginning.
Now, in season three, it looks like David is going to feature as the main antagonist for the show, as Sydney Barrett (Rachel Keller) is the force attempting to stop him.
To make matters worse, Amahl Farouk (Navid Negahban) is now working for Division 3, working against David as well.
Lenny (Aubrey Plaza) seems to have come out of last season’s situation in top, as she is now running a cult alongside David, bolstering his forces even further.
With this season set to introduce Charles Xavier (Harry Lloyd) proper, David is going to have to tackle his past to ensure he has a future.
Before that, it looks as if David’s story is going to get a little more hectic, as teased by David actor Dan himself.
Speaking at the premiere for Legion’s third season, Dan explained what has changed for David since viewers last saw him.
He teased: “Oh my God, well, along with Lenny he’s started a sort of love cult.
“It just gets crazier really, it gets very very dark, very weird. Yeah. I mean all the things we like about Legion really.”
To make things even more cryptic, Dan was also asked to sum his character up in one word, to which he responded: “Multitudes.”
The final eight episodes are sure to be exciting and shocking, and the show’s creator Noah Hawley is adamant the story’s end is going to be interesting.
He also said at the premiere: “For me the show is an experiment.
“We’re not only telling an interesting story, we’re telling a story in an interesting way.
“I think there’s a lot that gets taken for granted in storytelling for the small screen. People start in the beginning, they go to the middle and they end in the end.
“There’s so many forms of storytelling we haven’t explored yet, so I’m excited to push the boundaries.
This season Noah has also introduced a new mutant character: Switch (Lauren Tsai).
Switch can travel through time, and has teamed up with David to do his bidding – but will she stick around once she realises how malevolent David is becoming?
Or will she be looking for a way out once she realises what is going on?
Legion season three begins Thursday July 4 at 9pm on FX.
